The Fuzzy Duck is set in the picture perfect English village of Armscote in Warwickshire.
This was our first visit, but definitely won’t be our last. Everything about our stay was just perfect; the location, hospitality, food, drink, room, amenities, weather – we couldn’t fault a single thing!
Those aren’t for you Elsa!
We were greeted warmly by staff who checked us in without any delays and then we headed up to our room. There are four rooms, each named after a different duck!
Dogs are allowed to stay in the rooms with the only rule being that they are not allowed on the bed.
The room was clean and beautifully decorated with high quality finishes and accessories.
We loved the selection of Baylis & Harding goodies. Earplugs are provided because the rooms are located above the restaurant, but we didn’t need them as it was so quiet despite being a busy Saturday night.
Tea and coffee facilities are provided on the landing, along with a basket full of spare toiletries and another with hair products in case you forget anything. We love all these complimentary touches…There is nothing worse than paying good money to stay somewhere and then also having to pay for all the little extras!
After a quick wash and brush up we headed down for dinner with Elsa.
The Food & Drink
Elsa was given a bowl of ice water to cool down and she decided that she’d like to have a little swim in it…
Although we were horrified at the unfolding mess that she was making, her aquatic activity wasn’t frowned upon by the staff who simply helped us mop up the puddle without any fuss. Thanks again!

Cotswold gin with Fever Tree tonic
Our food was as good as it looks, absolutely delicious. We were celebrating a birthday too, and they very kindly added a candle to the brownie!
Elsa chilled out under the table while we finished off our meal…
After a very sound night’s sleep we woke up and took Elsa for a short walk around the quaint village full of thatched cottages and stunning views of the countryside.
Along with a selection of things like cereals, granola and fruit there is also a menu which includes a full English breakfast. It looked so delicious when it arrived that we forgot to take a picture! But it was cooked to perfection and very tasty.
Before we had Elsa, we thought that places like this would be off-limits to us as we always knew we’d take her everywhere with us, and understand that not everywhere is dog friendly. It’s always a huge delight that we can enjoy a luxurious weekend away without having to leave her behind! We are so grateful to live in a country that is as dog friendly as Britain is, and The Fuzzy Duck is a perfect example of a business that is embracing the cultural shift towards including our four-legged friends in all aspects of our lives. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to our next visit!
