The Bear’s Paw is a luxury hotel and restaurant tucked away in the quiet village of Warmingham in Cheshire and is one of our favourite places to enjoy a meal with Elsa.
Everything about this place oozes charm and unpretentious sophistication. The fact that it is dog friendly is a huge bonus as it’s a great place to stop after a day out exploring the Cheshire countryside.
The decor is fitting of a country hotel and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed with a few different seating areas to choose from. The large fireplaces and comfy chairs make this a perfect place to relax with a drink, particularly at Christmas time when warm mulled wine is available from the bar!
Although quite large inside, we would recommend booking in advance if you plan on visiting at a peak time as it can get quite busy.
The food has always been beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Most (if not all) of the ingredients are sourced locally and the menu is regularly updated. There is a good variety of hearty comfort food from things like steak pie and chips to pork belly. If you fancy something lighter they also have a range of light bites and salads as well as sharing platters.
We always save room for dessert and this is another dish that The Bear’s Paw excel at. Below is a chocolate orange brownie – yum!
The service has always been friendly and prompt; the waiting staff are all very attentive without being imposing.
We also love the little extra touches like a piece of fudge with the coffee – this was very yummy indeed!
More pictures will be added to this post the next time we visit so watch this space!
