Astbury Mere Country Park | Congleton | Cheshire

This country park in Cheshire sits on the site of a former sand quarry. Today, it is alive with wildlife and popular with dog walkers, fishermen and even water-sports enthusiasts!

From the visitors centre you will find a gravel path that takes you around the Mere, a walk that takes approximately 30 minutes at a steady pace.

On the opposite shore you will find Astbury Water Sports Centre where you can learn to sail, windsurf, Kayak or try canoeing.

Overlooking the Park is a popular Indian restaurant called Nobanno. Although not dog friendly inside, there are a few tables outside where you could sit with your dog and enjoy the view, or grab a take-away!

  • Plenty of car parking available
  • Lots of dog waste bins dotted around
  • There is a refreshment van near the visitors centre that sells lovely coffee, ice cream and snacks.
