This recently renovated country pub has a large dog friendly area. Having heard very good reviews about The Fitzherbert Arms from several different people we decided to stop for dinner on our way home after a long day out with Elsa.
We settled ourselves near to the bar and Elsa made herself very comfortable, deciding that it was a perfect opportunity to catch up on some sleep!
Although it was quiet when we sat down, people soon started filtering in. This didn’t bother Elsa though; she was too busy snoring under the table!
The decor is a mixture of old-fashioned country pub married with modern rustic features. The new doorway lets in a lot of light giving the pub an open and bright feel.
We were hungry so we ordered hearty mains – fish & chips and steak pie & chips!
When the food arrived we thought that the crockery looked very familiar…Then we noticed on the drink coaster that The Fitzherbert Arms is part of the Cheshire Cat Pubs & Inns, along with another favourite of ours – The Three Greyhounds Inn!
The food was perfectly cooked and very filling, so no room for dessert on this visit. It was time to take Sleeping Beauty home!
Additional information:
- Car parking available behind the pub
