This post is dedicated to all things related to Christmas… We will be attending lots of events with Elsa and updating this entry regularly throughout the 2016 festive season!
Sunday 13th November 2016 | Hounds Christmas Launch Night
There is no better way to start the festive season than with a bit of Christmas shopping and the Hounds Christmas Launch did not disappoint! From doggie advent calendars and Christmas dinners to treats and toys, they have a fantastic selection of seasonal products.
We had a very warm welcome on the night with Prosecco and nibbles for the humans and treats for the dogs!
Elsa always enjoys meeting the other dogs visiting the shop.
We love the selection of festive jumpers and cannot wait for the Hounds Christmas jumper party!
Hounds also stock beautiful handmade collars and leads by Sweetpea & Boo.
Newcastle-under-Lyme are hosting a competition for the best dressed festive window display and we think Hounds have set the bar very high!
The Hounds facebook page has details of all their upcoming events, click here for more information.
Thursday 1st December 2016 | Paws & Co Christmas Launch
We headed down to Paws & Co Staffordshire Ltd to check out their Christmas 2016 launch night.
Events like this are a great opportunity to let your dog socialise and have fun so that they associate the environment with something good and this hopefully reduces any stress of visiting the groomer when necessary. We always make the most of this kind of opportunity with Elsa, and have found that it does make a huge difference.
Elsa enjoyed playing with another Lhasa Apso called Dexter, along with the handsome Frenchie Sir Hugo!
We enjoyed mince pies and hot chocolate while we got a sneak peak at some festive products like the new Christmas scented grooming sprays and hair bows.
Christmas is in full swing at Paws & Co!

Saturday 3rd December 2016 | Santa Paws Day at Bradeley Green
This is the second year that we have taken Elsa to visit Santa Paws at Bradeley Green. She had her photo taken and got her very own goody bag and present from Santa!
We also did some shopping while we were there and got Elsa some new Chris Christensen grooming products.
Check out the Bradeley Green facebook page for more information about the shop and their events by clicking here.
Sunday 4th December 2016 | Santa Paws Photo Shoot at Dougal’s Den
We missed this photo opportunity last year so we made sure to clear our diary so that Elsa could visit Santa Paws at Dougal’s Den. Along with a professional photo (which will be shared soon!) Elsa also got a goody bag – all in support of a local charity!
Check out the Dougal’s Den facebook page for more information about the shop and their events by clicking here.
Saturday 10th December 2016 | Santa Paws at Hounds
After visiting Paws & Co Staffordshire Ltd for her pre-Christmas trim we visited Hounds so that Elsa could meet Santa Paws … again!
We LOVE their festive window display!
This event seemed to be very popular with lots of doggies lining up to meet Santa!
We picked up a lovely snowflake shaped Christmas cookie for Elsa, made by Pupcakes.
Elsa wore her Christmas ‘reindog’ jumper which was given to her by her Grandma – fits her perfectly and we think it really suits her!

Elsa also got a little present from Santa which we have placed under the tree for her to open on Christmas Day!
Sunday 11th December 2016 | Doggie Fashions
Doggie Fashions have a gorgeous little post box for letters to Santa, so Elsa popped a card in and we picked up a few treats for her after a lovely walk around the gardens at Trentham.
Wednesday 14th December 2016 | Christmas Pet Parade
We spent a lovely evening at this organised festive walk around Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Fancy dress was advised so we decided that a star costume would be ideal for Elsa, knowing that the dogs from Paws and Co would be dressed as The Three Wise Men and Mary!
Elsa loved meeting all the other dogs including her friend Piglet…
…she also enjoyed catching up with Max and Harry!
There was a fantastic turnout with dogs dressed as everything from Christmas trees to elves and reindeers!
We love this trio in matching jumpers…
Newcastle-under-Lyme Business Improvement District organised this event with support from Paws & Co Staffordshire LTD, Newcastle Pets, Greyhound Gap, Animal Lifeline, 4Paws petminding and Douglas Macmillan Hospice.
Saturday 17th December 2016 | Hounds Christmas Jumper Party
The events at Hounds never disappoint and this one definitely topped them all!
Elsa has made lots of new friends over the past year and we were delighted to see all of her favourite friends including Piglet, Freddie, Harry, Charlie, Woody and Cinnamon all dressed to impress in their Christmas jumpers!
There were also some new paws at the party including a few puppies which were just adorable!
Elsa was quick to sniff out the treats…
The time just flew by while the dogs socialised and we enjoyed watching their antics!
Thanks again to Hounds for hosting another fabulous event!
Christmas Eve | Walk | Knypersley Reservoir
We took Elsa for a nice long walk around this beautiful reservoir in Staffordshire.
Elsa had a great time sniffing around and exploring. She particularly enjoyed watching the ducks and attempting to chase the squirrels…
|Can you spot the robin posing in this picture?|
The weather was very mild but the ground was still a little muddy so once we’d walked around the reservoir we headed home to give Elsa a pre-Christmas bath!
As she finishes off the last treat in her advent calendar, Elsa wonders what Santa Paws will leave underneath the tree for her….
Christmas Day 2016
The day started with a walk and then breakfast…
…Santa Paws had been and Elsa couldn’t wait to rip the wrapping paper off her presents!
Along with lots of treats and some new toys, Elsa also got a new toy box which we had custom made by Waggs 2 Whiskers. We are absolutely delighted with how it’s turned out – exactly as we’d imagined. The idea is that we can pop the toys in the top of the box and Elsa can pull them out of the hole at the bottom. She seems to have got the hang of it already!
One of the best presents we were given is this amazing hand-drawn portrait of Elsa – absolutely beautiful and captures her likeness perfectly!
Lots of love from Elsa
Baking | Christmas Cookies
We decided to bake some Christmas cookies to share with some of Elsa’s friends!
Made with just four ingredients: whole wheat flour (we tried buckwheat flour but it was just too sticky), beef stock (no added salt), egg and water. We used Christmas shaped fondant plungers to cut out the shapes.
Elsa was more than happy to quality check them and we’re pleased to say that she was very satisfied with the finished cookies!
Seasons Greetings from Elsa & Paws across Britain!
