The Loopy Shrew is part of the Shrewsbury-based DiTella Group which includes Darwin's Townhouse and Porterhouse [now re-branded as Darwin's Kitchen].
All of these venues have dog friendly sections and if you are looking for a B&B they also have boutique, dog friendly rooms too!
The Loopy Shrew is situated close to Quarry Park, so it's in an ideal location for passing dog walkers.
In fact we walked by a couple of times throughout the day and Elsa kept on trying to go inside!
Although dogs are only allowed in the 'coffee bar' area at the front it is very spacious and there are a few 'proper' tables to sit at (so we didn't have to eat our meal from a coffee table).
Since these tables are limited we'd definitely recommend booking in advance if you want to take your dog with you for a meal.
Food is served from breakfast right through until dinner. The ingredients are sourced locally and you can read about their suppliers on their website - Click here for more information.
I chose the 'Breast of Garlic Basted Chicken' which came with delicious mozzarella croquettes. For dessert I had Pimms soaked strawberries, served in a brandy snap basket with basil ice cream. YUM!
The Loopy Shrew has a lovely, relaxed environment, delicious food and great service.
Along with our meal we also had a couple of drinks from the bar; they have a wide selection of wines, beers, cocktails and gins, so there is plenty of choice!
Elsa was quite content to chew her deer hide roll while we enjoyed our dinner and drinks before heading across town to Darwin's Townhouse, where we stayed overnight.
