As we approached we saw a sign saying that well behaved dogs were welcome... Elsa has her moments but seemed to be in a good mood so we ventured in. Although there is another seating area upstairs, there was a free table downstairs and Elsa was very happy to settle underneath it with absolutely no fuss (hooray!). They serve freshly made crêpes, waffles, pastries, coffee and craft beer. It was a little early for beer so we opted for crêpes and coffee.
The atmosphere is so relaxed and we loved getting our fingers all sticky eating our crêpes.
Our attention is always drawn to anything related to dogs and there were plenty of things to keep us entertained at Chez Sophie including children's books, Dog Top Trumps and a 'Hungry Dog' board game (like Hungry Hippos but with DOGS!) Who says you need to grow up?
Everything about our visit to Chez Sophie was just perfect.
The crêpes were a good size, not too big and not too small, with just the right amount of filling. We opted for relatively simple flavours (mine was plain Nutella) but they have a huge selection of both sweet and savoury crêpes on the menu so I can't wait to go back and try something more adventurous next time... or perhaps I'll try the waffles...or a milkshake?
Elsa also got lots of attention so it was clear that they love their four-legged visitors. It's safe to say that Chez Sophie is going to be our go-to place for coffee and treats when we are in Shrewsbury from now on!
