Paws and Rewind is a look back at the places, products, activities and events that we have been enjoying with Elsa over the past month.
Autumn has well and truly arrived (although it feels more like winter today), but just because the summer is over doesn't mean that we're staying indoors!
We'll never get bored of visiting The Trentham Estate! It doesn't matter if we only have an hour or a whole day, we always find lots to do and end up bumping into the nicest dogs (and people) there...
At the beginning of September we met up with lots of Elsa's friends at Trentham including Piglet and Kobee with his ADORABLE baby brother Yuki! We also discovered that one of the new shops, The Potters Barn, is very dog friendly and that you can actually paint your own dog bowl there! Doggie Fashions had loads of new treats and accessories in store as well as all of the Halloween stock! (Elsa may have got one or two presents...). We are still eagerly awaiting RAWR's grand opening which is expected in October...
We took Elsa to The Lakes for the very first time in September - I really don't know why we don't go more often, we only live a couple of hours away and it's such and amazing part of the country! Fortunately we'd missed the majority of the summer tourists so, although it was still busy, we didn't feel like anywhere was too crowded. We really only scratched the surface on this visit but we packed as much as we possibly could into our short break. Highlights were definitely seeing all the red squirrels, eating loads of amazing food, visiting Castlerigg Stone Circle and travelling on the Ullswater Steamers!
When we got back home from our break in The Lakes we still had a couple of days to spare so we decided to visit Beeston Castle in Cheshire. The site is run by English Heritage and I noticed that on their website they actually list which of their properties are dog friendly (most of them!), so I think we'll have another look on there the next time that we're planning a day out somewhere. I don't know what it is about castles but Elsa definitely seems to enjoy every minute of exploring them! She literally wanted to run up the entire path to the ruins - I have no idea where she gets her energy from!!
After our workout (running around the castle behind Elsa) we were in need of a rest and some refreshments, so we headed to a nearby pub called The Pheasant Inn. We love that the entire pub is dog friendly! It's everything that you'd expect from a traditional, British country pub and the food was delicious - just what we needed!
Woofmasta recently contacted us to see if Elsa would like to try a few of their products, so over the past month she has been wearing the coat and accessories that they sent us. We've had lots of fun trying them out and are grateful for the opportunity to share our thoughts and feedback. Click here to read the full post.
The Pack - September 2017
We've only had one new Pack member join us this month... This little beauty is called Bella and she loves Sale Water Park in Greater Manchester. We're convinced that she must be related to Elsa somehow - they look like they could be twins!
If you would like to share your favourite dog friendly places and have your dogs featured on Paws across Britain please contact us for more information. We'd particularly like to hear about places in Scotland, Ireland, the South of England and East Anglia!
Next month - October is definitely our favourite month of the year for three reasons: it's Autumn, Elsa's Birthday and Halloween!
We will be visiting a new dog shop that has opened up in our local area and also visiting a pub called 'The Dog'!
PARTY TIME! Elsa's birthday is just around the corner now and we cannot wait! The invites have been sent out and we've put lots of goodies together for this event. We're expecting mutts, madness and mayhem - keep your eyes peeled for this very special blog post!
We'll be sharing tales of our trip to Wales with you later this month too.
The official countdown to Howl-o-ween has begun!
