The Pheasant Inn | Peckforton | Cheshire

After a morning of exploring Beeston Castle and the surrounding woodlands, we headed to The Pheasant Inn for lunch. It's part of the Nelson Hotels group which also includes one of our favourite pubs called The Bears Paw so we had high expectations...

Although we didn't have a table reservation, the staff were really helpful and advised us that it would only be a short wait before they could have one ready for us.

We were pleased to learn that the entire pub is dog friendly and there were LOTS of other dogs in there!

By the time we'd ordered our drinks at the bar we were called over to be seated.

The interior of the pub is cosy and charming, with lots of little alcoves where you can nestle-in and really make yourself comfortable. Elsa settled under the table with some snacks while we placed our order.

The menu has a good selection of wholesome pub-style food including classics like pie and fish & chips along with sharing platters; just what we needed after our morning walk!

We really enjoyed chatting to one of the lovely waitresses about her Shih Tzu when she brought over a bowl of water for Elsa. As far as dog friendly pubs go, this is one of those places where dogs are truly made to feel welcome and this always puts us at ease.

It didn't take long for our food to arrive. It was similar to what we'd expect at The Bear's Paw; the portions are a good size, everything is homemade, hearty, and very enjoyable!

After our meal we had a look around the outside of the Inn and found it to be just as charming as the inside - there are even paw prints in the cement on the pavement!

The Pheasant Inn isn't just a dog friendly pub - they also offer dog friendly accommodation too! Click here to read more.

We loved everything about our visit to The Pheasant Inn. The location, the setting, the atmosphere, the food & drink and the service - they have got all of the details spot on!
