Pups & Cups is owned and run by business partners Andrew Cain and James Steele who were inspired to open the bistro after they struggled to find dog friendly places to take their own Frenchies in the local area.
The pair decided to create a venue where dogs were not only welcome, but could have their own space to socialise too!
Once they found a suitable venue, a lot of hard work went into renovating the interior, they even made their own tables from reclaimed materials. Local artists were enlisted to create the murals on the wall and to decorate the sign outside.
Andrew also has plans to use the bistro as a training ground for individuals who are looking to build a career in the hospitality sector through on-the-job training.
Everyone is given a very warm welcome on arrival and the spacious seating area means that you can find somewhere comfortable for you and your dog, whether you have a German Shepherd or a Chihuahua!
There is also a 'Pup Garden' area where dogs can be let off-lead to relax on their own miniature sofas or play with other dogs. (Elsa decided that she'd rather sit with us at the table and enjoy her 'Doggie Doughnut' so we didn't get any pics!)
Dogs have their own menu at Pups & Cups where they can choose from things like freshly baked 'Pawfect Pancakes' to 'Pupchinos'.
Elsa was also given a bowl of water at the table. She really enjoyed her treat and made quite a mess in the process...but that's the great thing about Pups & Cups, you don't have to worry about your dog making a mess or letting out the odd excited bark because everyone there loves dogs! At Pups & Cups they understand that dogs are part of your family and your pooch can expect to be treated with the same level of attention and service as every other customer.
The dogs aren't the only ones who can enjoy tasty treats at Pups & Cups...
Food is served all day from breakfast through to dinner and you can also enjoy a hearty Sunday roast at the weekend. Our burgers were absolutely huge and very, very tasty! I normally always have room for dessert, but I was so full that I had to pass! If you fancy something lighter then they also offer a selection of cakes, coffees and soft drinks.
Pups & Cups have only been open a few weeks but they already have a growing pack of loyal customers and lots of exciting plans for the future!
Keep an eye out for some special events that will be taking place in this bistro including doggie afternoon teas and canine Christmas dinner...
