Paws and Rewind – August 2018

Paws and Rewind – August 2018

Paws and Rewind is a look back at the places, products, activities and events that we have been enjoying with Elsa over the past month.

August Highlights:

Don't judge a dog food by it's packaging...

No matter what you feed your dog, we encourage everyone to start reading the food label and ingredient list - you'll be surprised how many dog foods are full of 'filler' ingredients - even if they are 'grain free'! We discovered that there is more to ORIJEN than just pretty packaging as we got to grips with dog food labels in August.

One of the best things about living in the Midlands is that we can travel to different parts of the country relatively easily...

In August we made a few trips to Merseyside. First we checked out a brand new bistro called Pups & Cups, where dogs are welcome and well-behaved owners are tolerated... this place really has 'gone to the dogs', in the best possible way!

Our next stop was Woodside Drive In, an amazing American-style drive-in cinema. From the rollerskating waitresses who will bring you cinema-style snacks to the quality of the sound and screen, everything about the whole experience is just incredible and, since you watch the movie from the comfort of your own car, it means that you can enjoy your favourite movies with your dog too!

Last but not least, we headed to The Dog Barn to celebrate Paws across Britain Pack member Bria's birthday. Morgan the Cavapoo was there too and Elsa had lots of fun running around in the field with all the dogs before we headed into The Dog Bowl for some special doggie birthday cake!

Closer to home we caught up with Harry the Chug at Gus & Bear's Charity Dog Wash. It was lovely to see them both looking so fluffy and clean, especially for such a good cause!

At the end of August we made the most of the final bank holiday of 2018 by travelling to Cambridge to stay at The Gonville Hotel. This was our first visit to this historic city, but certainly won't be our last! Despite the fact that you can't take dogs into the college grounds or museums, there are still plenty of things to do and see and it's just such a beautiful place to explore. The highlight of this trip was undoubtedly the tour that we had in our Gonville Bentley with Elsa! Thanks again to The Gonville Hotel for a very enjoyable and memorable experience!
