The ‘Mookie’ is a small, colourful and functional brush that can also be used to massage pets. Read our review and find out how you can get your paws on one!
Lhasa Apsos and grooming go hand in paw. Unless you have them shaved very short, daily brushing is essential and fur mats are inevitable. Over the years we’ve used all sorts of grooming tools but there are a few areas that are always tricky to tackle.
I actually saw the Mookie brush on a tv show called ‘The Customer is Always Right’ and my first thought was: “Finally, someone has actually created a tool that is really going to be useful!”. The £11.99 price tag seemed reasonable so I placed my order immediately. It seems to be made of good quality materials so I’d certainly say that it was worth the price paid.
This little brush has a simple yet effective design and is ideal for untangling fur and removing any dead undercoat or debris. The flexible, rubber handle makes it very comfortable to hold and manoeuvre, even in those difficult to reach places like the insides of the legs, which is where Elsa’s fur tends to mat the most.
The small bristles flow through Buffy’s soft puppy fur without snagging so the Mookie brush is an ideal tool to help her get used to the sensation of being groomed. The cap protects the bristles but it also transforms the Mookie into a convenient little massager.
Overall, I’m very impressed with the Mookie brush!
I even bought a spare one to carry around in my handbag for any grooming emergencies like removing grass seeds or burs while we are out walking. It also comes in very handy for quick ‘tidy-ups’ if the girls get a bit scruffy throughout the day. This brush is ideal for Lhasa Apsos, but I’d recommend it to anyone who has a dog with medium-long fur.
